Tips For Great Skin
February 10, 2021
Now I’ll start by saying there is no special trick or formula that will give you great skin. It’s a mix of genetics, habits, and topical products. What I will say is that there are a few tips that you can follow which can help not just for your skin but also your overall health!
Drink More Water
Water has so many benefits so drink up! Keep a reusable water bottle next to you and keep filling it up throughout the day. A good rule of thumb is to aim for 2L but the amount you drink should link back to your body weight.
Sleep For At Least 7 Hours
In an ideal world, we would all be sleeping in, getting rid of eye bags and still fulfilling all out responsibilities. And though it may be difficult, prioritizing sleep allows for our bodies to have time to regenerate. When you get a good nights’ sleep - that is, 7 hours or more - your skin makes new collagen. That means your skin will be looking plump and you’ll be preventing wrinkles. Win win!
Touching your face can sometimes be a subconscious habit. But think about it, you use your hands to do so many things and if you’re constantly touching your face you’re probably transferring germs and bacteria and who knows what else. Also, if you’re touching your face, you’re most likely picking out the imperfections like pimples and bumps! So hands off.
Have A Routine
Finally, building a skincare routine is an important step. You want to think of three basic steps:
First you must know your skin type and find products that are right for you. Now for the sake of this post, I’ll elaborate on why having a good moisturizer is important. The purpose of a moisturizer is to hydrate the skin. Shea Butter is super moisturizing and won’t clog your pores! Shea Butter ranks between 0-1 on the comedogenic scale. It is rich in fatty acids and vitamins that energize and improve elasticity in the skin. To maximize its effect make sure to rub it in smooth circular motions always in an upward movement.
